What is Auyshaman Bharat Yojana?

The Ayushman Bharat Yojana, launched in September 2018 by the Government of India, aims to provide health insurance to economically disadvantaged individuals throughout India. The scheme offers health insurance coverage of up to Rs. 5 lakh to those with low incomes, including individuals from categories such as Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Scheduled Castes (SC). It stands as one of the largest government-supported schemes globally. The program provides cashless healthcare benefits of up to Rs. 5 lakh to beneficiaries, extending coverage to every individual within a family. The registration process is straightforward, providing a unique identity number to all participants.

Eligibility: The scheme primarily targets poor and vulnerable families based on the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) data. Those are in category of ST/SC and having very low income, they can apply for the Auyshaman Bharat Yojana card.  You can check your eligibility by visiting the official website of Ayushman Bharat or by contacting local healthcare facilities participating in the scheme.

Registration: Visit the official website of Ayushman Bharat Yojana and check for the registration or enrolment section. You may need to provide details such as Aadhaar card number, mobile number, family details, etc. or you can visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or designated enrolment centre. They can assist you with the registration process.

Verification and Approval: After submitting your application, it will undergo verification to ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria. Once verified, your application will be approved, and you will receive an Ayushman Bharat Yojana card.

Cashless Card:  You can avail of healthcare services at any of the empanelled hospitals or healthcare providers across India. Present your Ayushman card at the hospital reception during admission to avail cashless treatment.

Benefits: It covers Pre-hospitalization, consultation, medical expenses, treatment expenses and diagnostic and testing expenses etc., upto 5 lakh.  All members in family are covered under this scheme.
