What is Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhathi?

Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhathi (KASP) is a health insurance scheme launched by the Government of Kerala, India. Its primary goal is to provide health coverage of Rs. 5 lakh to below the poverty line or financially vulnerable families in Kerala. The scheme is completely free, with all premiums paid by the State Government.

Some of its key features:

Coverage:  Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhathi provides Rs. 5 Lakh of health covers for each members in the family.

Medical Services:  The scheme covers several medical treatments like Medical examination, Consultancy charges, Pre & Post hospitalization expenses, surgeries, diagnostics, medicines and hospital accommodation expenses.

Cashless Treatment: The scheme offers cashless treatment at empanelled hospitals and healthcare facilities, reducing the financial burden on beneficiaries at the time of availing medical services.

No Premium: since the KASP finance by the state government, there is no any premium cost, it’s totally free for families those are below poverty line.    

Subsidized Premiums: In some cases, beneficiaries may be required to pay subsidized premiums or no premiums at all, depending on their economic status and category.
