What is the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Insurance Scheme?

The Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Insurance Scheme is a Tamil Nadu State Government initiative goal at providing health insurance coverage to economically unsafe sections of society.  The scheme is designed to offer best in class healthcare services to poor and lower income families. The Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Insurance Scheme covers various medical treatments and surgeries without any financial burden and stress on families.

Some of the Key Features of the Scheme:

Eligibility: Individual should be the resident of the Tamil Nadu.  The family income of the beneficiary should not more than Rs. 72000/- per annum.  All the member in family should be mentioned in the ration card.

Coverage: The scheme covers hospitalization costs, including pre and post-hospitalization expenses, surgeries and other medical expenses like diagnostic tests, medicine, ambulance etc., upto Rs. 5 Lakh per family each year.
